Deep Brain Stimulation for the Treatment of Neuropsychiatric Disorders

Together with our partners, we are developing an implantable neural interface capable of recording and stimulating in the human central nervous system. The system will be used to treat neuropsychiatric disorders such as Major Depressive Disorder and PTSD.

This development is part of DARPA’s SUBNETS (Systems-Based Neurotechnology for Emerging Therapies) program as part of the Obama BRAIN Initiative, which is aimed at revolutionizing our understanding of the human mind and uncovering new ways to treat, prevent and cure neurological disorders.
